The Junior Black Sticks Men beat Papua New Guinea 15-0 today, while the women lost 3-1 against Australia in the first games of their respective Junior World Cup Qualifiers in the Gold Coast.
The Women are playing three tests against Australia, and the men play games against Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea and Australia with the top two qualifying for the 2013 Junior World Cups.
Samoa and Papua New Guinea withdrew on the women’s side, allowing the Kiwi women automatic qualification along with Australia. Regardless, a tournament win for the Kiwis (men and women) will result in an easier pool at the Junior World Cup. Continue reading →

Australia’s new crop of Under 21 hockey stars will do battle against the best Oceania hockey nations for one of two lucrative Oceania qualifying spots in the 2013 Junior World Cup.
