Gangpur-Odisha won the Jr Women Hockey Nationals 2015 (B-Division)

Hockey Gangpur-Odisha defeated Hockey Patiala by 2-1 to win the 5th Hockey India Junior Women National Championship (Division B) concluded today at Rajnandgaon (Chhattisgarh). Whereas, Chandigarh Olympic Association won a close fought battle defeating Hockey Uttarakhand with 2-1 and settled with the third position.

MK Kaushik appointed as Manager High Performance (Central Zone)

New Delhi, 27 October 2014:  Olympian Maharaj Krishan Kaushik (MK Kaushik) has been appointed as the Manager, High Performance (Central Zone) by Hockey India.

Maharaj Krishan Kaushik (MK Kaushik) (Manager, High Performance (Central Zone), Hockey India)

Kaushik, who was the coach of the Indian Men Hockey team that won Gold medal at the recently concluded 17th Asian Games 2014 in Incheon, South Korea will be seen in a new role from 1 November 2014.

Kaushik as the Manager, High Performance will soon start monitoring all domestic activities in the central zone consisting of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

MK Kaushik was the member of the 1980 Olympics Gold Medal winning Indian Men Hockey team, had also coached both the Indian men and women teams. Under his coaching, India men team won their last major international tournament – the 1998 Asian Games in Bangkok. In the same year, he received the prestigious Arjuna Award. Debutants Hockey Gangpur-Odisha Won Sub Junior Nationals 2014 – Women (B Division)

Haldwani, Uttarakhand, 25 May 2014: Debutants Hockey Gangpur-Odisha defeated Sports Authority of India (SAI) to win the B-Division of 4th Sub Junior National Hockey Championship 2014. Punjab finished at 3rd place by defeating Bhopal by a huge margin of 13-0, while the team from Gangpur-Odisha defeated SAI by 2-1 in final played here in Haldwani, Uttarakhand today.

In Semis of Sr Nationals (B Division): Namdhari XI vs Gangpur and Mumbai vs Maharashtra

10 March 2014: Namdhari XI and Mumbai emerged as the pool winners of Pool A and Pool B respectively, thus setting up semi-finals of the 4th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship 2014 (Division B) against Hockey Gangpur-Odisha and Maharashtra.

Namdhari and Mumbai on winning spree in Sr Nationals (B Division)

9 March 2014: Namdhari XI and Mumbai registered their third consecutive victories on the day 11 of the 4th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship 2014 (Division B) being played at Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium in Lucknow.

In a Pool A match between Namdhari XI and Bihar, Karandeep Singh Dhillon of Namdhari alone pocketed 4 goals for the team at 8th, 16th, 25th and 64th minute of the game followed by Baljot Singh’s two goals at 15th and 47th minute. Naveen Minz, Bhim Kumar and Mangra Bhengra of Bihar only managed to strike one goal each at 12th, 40th and 51st minute of the game. Manipur and Chhattisgarh in Semis of Jr Women’s Nationals B-Division

07 March 2014: Manipur and Chhattisgarh have confirmed their places in the semi-finals of the 4th Hockey India Junior Women National Championship 2014 (Division B) being played at Chamundi Vihar Hockey Ground in Mysore today.

In their last league match of Pool A, Manipur registered their third win in a row defeating Vidarbha Hockey Association 6-0.

Manipur took a decent 2-0 lead in the first half of the game when Sonia Devi scored at the 17th minute and Captain Gitarani Devi scoring at the 22nd minute. The second half of the game saw, Manipur girls going all out and closing the game with a 6-0 victory over Vidarbha Hockey Association, where Bidyarani Devi scored two goals at 39th and 47th minute and Sonia Devi took her total of goals to three by scoring two more goals at 49th and 60th minute.
