14 March 2014: On the opening day for Pool A and Pool B matches of the 4th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship 2014 (Division A) being played at Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium in Lucknow, Chandigarh Olympic Association, Services Sports Control Board and Comptroller & Auditor General of India, all registered their maiden win in their respective matches.

Chandigarh Olympic Association played an excellent match against Andhra Pradesh and defeated them with 4-2 in Pool A. Chandigarh Olympic Association was on a full throttle in the first half of the match as they dominated with a 2-0 lead till half time. Chandigarh’s Tarandeep Singh started off with the goal scoring spree for the team in the 9th minute of the game, followed by Navdeep Singh’s two goals in the 20th and 39th minute and Lakhwinder singh in the 51st minute. New Delhi, 31 May 2013: Defending Champions Punjab start their campaign with a big win over Gujarat 30-0 in their opening league match of Pool A in the 3rd Hockey India Senior Men National Championship played at Shiv Chhatrapati Shivaji Sports Complex in Pune on Friday.

Experienced side Punjab started their game on attacking mode and successfully built pressure on their opponents. Forward Vikramjit Singh scored maximum seven goals for Punjab followed by Simranjit Singh (6), Inderjeet Singh (5), Sarvanjit Singh (4), Ravi Pal (3), Jarnail Singh (3), Vikas Sharma (1) and Sandeep Singh (1).
Air India overwhelmed Tripura 13-0 to maintain their unbeaten run in the Pool B. For Air India, Skipper Arjun Halappa and Swamy Vinaya scored three goals each followed by Vikram Pillay (2), Affan Yousuf (2), Pradhan Somanna (2) and Subbaiah Darshan (1). Continue reading →
New Delhi, 27 May 2013: The 3rd edition of the Hockey India Senior Men National Championship will be played at Pune, Maharashtra from 28 May-10 June 2013.

In 2013 edition of the championship, as many as 38 teams will be participating in the championship which will be played on a league cum knockout basis on the Major Dhyan Chand Polygrass Hockey Stadium Pimpri and Shiv Chhatrapati Shivaji Sports Complex in Pune.
This year four new teams including Comptroller and Auditor General, Sports Authority of India, Mumbai Hockey Association Limited and Namdhari XI will participate apart from 34 teams which participated in last edition. Continue reading →
