England and India secured their place in the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games Semi Finals with 3-1 and 5-2 wins over Canada and South Africa respectively, while Australia and New Zealand won their respective matches to confirm their top places in Pool A and Pool B.

Indian team came out firing in their final pool game against South Africa, though they needed a draw for advancing to medal round. 8 May 2013: Air India, Haryana, Punjab and Karnataka entered the semi-finals of the 3rd Hockey India Senior Men National Championship 2013.
Last year’s runners-up Air India scored a hard-fought 5-4 win against Railways to win the first quarter-final match played at Major Dhyan Chand Polygrass Hockey Stadium, Pimpri in Pune today. Eight Olympians and a number of newcomers have been picked by Black Sticks Men’s head coach Colin Batch in the World League Semi-Final team set to take off to Europe this weekend.
Batch says his team is continuing to rebuild and hopes the combination of experienced and younger players will help create a successful team in Rotterdam next month.
Seven of those named have less than 20 caps, including Junior World Cup Squad players Kane Russell, George Muir and Jared Panchia.

Both India and Ireland, who qualified for the FIH World League Semi-Finals through Hockey World League 2 New Delhi in February 2013, will travel to Rotterdam, Netherlands from 13th – 23rd June 2013 .
The other teams at Rotterdam competition will be Australia, Netherlands, New Zealand and Spain, who qualified by FIH Rankings, while two others yet to be determined i.e. the winner of the upcoming World League 2 tournament in France and the highest ranked second place team from the French or Russia World League 2 competition.
