24 April 2013: Bihar defeated Jammu & Kashmir 9-0 (Pool D) with the help of 5 goals from Aprajita Kumari, including a hat-trick in the 3rd Hockey India Senior Women National Hockey Championship at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium in the Guru Govind Singh Sports College Lucknow on Wednesday. Junior Women’s Hockey National Championship 2013 Updates, Haryana & Odisha Reach Quarter-finals

23 April 2013: Pooja Rani, Jyoti Gupta and Reena Rani scored four goals each, as Haryana raced to 23-0 win against Uttarakhand in their concluding Pool A league game and entered the quarter-finals of 3rd Hockey India Junior Women National Championship being played at Astroturf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi.

Haryana went on to dominate from the starting of the match. Senior Women’s Hockey National Championship 2013 Updates, Railways and Karnataka are in Quarter Finals

Karnataka (from Pool G) has entered the quarterfinals of the 3rd Hockey India Senior Women National Hockey Championship being played at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium in the Guru Gobind Singh College.

23 April 2013: Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy (MPHA) won 20-0 against Jammu & Kashmir in a Pool D league match. IOCL (Indian Oil Corporation Limited) emerged as the champions of KSHA Ozonegroup National Hockey League Championship 2012-13 played at the KSHA Hockey Stadium, Bangatore from 1st to 20th April 2013.

Why this Kolaveri? Indian Team Withdrew form Azlan Shah Cup to Get Approval from MYAS

February 26, 2013: Hockey India and Government were questioned for the lack of funds for the National Game of country, Hockey, by the fans in social media, when the news of Indian Hockey Team’s withdrawal from Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2013 broke out. But later in the evening, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) cleared the trip with a warning to Hockey India. Why all this?

According to a media release from Hockey India, “In the sanction given by Sports Authority of India (SAI) to Hockey India regarding the men’s team participation in the 22nd Sultan Azlan Shah Cup Hockey Tournament, it is mentioned that Indian Men team will play this tournament at no cost to government. The only obligation to the government for this tour was to cover airfare cost of the team but in the sanction given by SAI it is clearly mentioned that government is not covering any cost. Therefore Hockey India has been forced to withdraw its participation from the tournament. Government has always covered the airfare of the team for this tournament till date. Continue reading →
