Core Probables for Indian Hockey Teams (Sr & Jr) Pruned Down to 33 Each

Indian Hockey Selectors were at NSSC, SAI Bangalore towards the end of last week (25th-27th July) and conducted trials of Junior and Senior Men Core probables for Junior World Cup 2013 and 9th Men’s Asia Cup 2013 respectively.

The selectors B P Govinda, Dr. R P Singh, Arjun Halappa and Government Observer Harbinder Singh along with Director High Performance & Interim Chief Coach Roelant Oltmans, Coach, Senior Men Team M K Kaushik and Scientific Advisor Jason Konrath decided to prune down the list of core probables to 33 for senior Indian team for upcoming Asia Cup, which last chance for India to qualifying for 2014 World Cup in the Hague (Netherlands). Indian Men’s Core Probables’ Camp for Asia Cup Preparations from 16th July in Bangalore

2 July 2013: Indian Senior Men Core Probables will assemble in Bangalore from 16th July for a month to prepare for for the 9th Men’s Asia Cup to be held at Ipoh, Malaysia from 24 August-01 September 2013.

Indian Senior Men’s Hockey Core Probables to Train in Bangalore from May 16th for World League 3

New Delhi, 14 May 2013: In the preparations for the Rabobank World League Round 3 (Semi-Final) to be played at Rotterdam, Netherlands from 13-23 June 2013, the senior men core probables for Indian Hockey team will starting training at the Netaji Subhas Southern Centre (NSSC), Bangalore from 16 May 2013. The training camp will continue until 4 June 2013.

The Indian men’s hockey team recently concluded the preparatory tour to The Netherlands, where the visitors defeated the Dutch National side twice and also played five games against top Dutch clubs.

India qualified for the FIH World League Round 3 (Semi-Final) by winning all the matches of the Round 2 tournament held at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi in February. The FIH World League Round 3 (Semi-Final) is a qualification tournament for the FIH Men’s World Cup 2014 to be held at Hague, Netherlands.  Continue reading →

Indian Junior Men’s Core Probables Back for the Camp in SAI South Centre Bangalore

37 Junior Indian Men’s Hockey players are called for camp underway at SAI South Centre in Bangalore. The camp is part of the preparations for the FIH Junior Men’s Hockey World Cup to be hosted by India from 6 – 15 December 2013.

The newly appointed coach of Indian Junior Men’s Hockey Team Gregg Clark will also be present during the 20 days long camp, which will conclude on 20th may. Continue reading →

Indian National Men’s Hockey Team Camp at SAI (South) Centre, Bangalore

Indian National Men’s Hockey Team is camping at SAI (South) Centre, Bangalore for the preparation of the upcoming important tournaments which includes FIH’s annual prestigious tournament (Champions Trophy 2011), to be held at Major Dhyan Chand National Hockey Stadium, Delhi and London 2012 Olympic Qualifiers to be played in February, 2012. India will also be playing inaugural edition of Asian Championship Trophy and will visit Australia for a 9-a-side tournament by Hockey Australia (International Super Series). Players are slowly getting into rhythm through the monitoring and light warm-up sessions with the coaches Mohd Riaz and BJ Cariappa, while the newly appointed Chief Coach, Michael Nobbs, is expected to join the camp soon. On the other hand, SAI officials have left no stone unturned to hand over best possible surface for the camp.
