Junior Black Sticks Women aiming high at Junior World Cup

The Junior Black Sticks Women can’t wait to put four years of hard training into practice at the 2013 Junior World Cup which starts from 27th July at Warsteiner Hockey Park in Mönchengladbach (Germany).

Junior Black Sticks Hockey New Zealand LogoHead coach Chris Leslie said the players have been training well in their regions and are excited about getting the tournament underway.

“I am confident athletes are on track – all the indicators are good – but we won’t know until we are together as a team, get over there and start playing and scouting the other sides. We are aiming for a semi-final spot, but it will be tough,” said Leslie. Continue reading →

15 July 2013: Indian Junior Women Hockey Team today departed for Germany to participate in the Ergo Hockey Junior World Cup 2013 (Women) which will be played at the Warsteiner Hockey Park in Mönchengladbach, Germany from 27th July to 4th August 2013.

India, who are placed in Pool-C with New Zealand, Australia and Russia, will open their campaign against Australia on 27 July at 6:00PM IST, followed by their next pool match against New Zealand on 28 July at 6:30 PM IST. Sushila to Lead India at Junior Women’s Hockey World Cup in Mönchengladbach

30 June 2013: Indian Junior Women’s Hockey Team for the FIH Hockey Junior World Cup Women 2013 is announced. The tournament will be played at Mönchengladbach in Germany from 27 July-4 August 2013.

Defender Sushila Chanu will lead the team while Forward Rani Rampal will be deputy to her. The Indian team will depart for Germany on 15 July 2013 and will be playing four warm-up games ahead of their World Cup campaign on 27 July. Russia and Malaysia beat Kazakhstan and Fiji in Women’s Hockey World League 2

New Delhi, 22 February 2013: Twentieth-ranked Russian women’s team thrashed thirty-third–ranked Kazakhstan in a one-sided match on the fifth day of the Hero Hockey World League Round 2, Delhi 2013 at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium today.
