Its Air India vs Haryana and Punjab Vs Karnataka in Semi Finals of Pune Hockey Nationals 2013

8 May 2013: Air India, Haryana, Punjab and Karnataka entered the semi-finals of the 3rd Hockey India Senior Men National Championship 2013.

3rd Hockey India Senior Men National Championship 2013In the semi-finals to be played on Sunday 9 June 2013, last year’s runners-up Air India take on Haryana while Defending Champion Punjab will clash with Karnataka.

Last year’s runners-up Air India scored a hard-fought 5-4 win against Railways to win the first quarter-final match played at Major Dhyan Chand Polygrass Hockey Stadium, Pimpri in Pune today. Air India who led 4-1 at the half time looked quite confident but their opponents Railways tried to make a comeback scoring three consecutive goals in the second half. Continue reading →

Junior Women’s Hockey National Championship 2013 Updates, Haryana & Odisha Reach Quarter-finals

23 April 2013: Pooja Rani, Jyoti Gupta and Reena Rani scored four goals each, as Haryana raced to 23-0 win against Uttarakhand in their concluding Pool A league game and entered the quarter-finals of 3rd Hockey India Junior Women National Championship being played at Astroturf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi.

Haryana went on to dominate from the starting of the match. Haryana who led 12-0 at the half time scored through Pooja Rani (1, 2, 7, 19), Nicky (9), Jyoti Gupta (11, 52, 53, 69), Deepti (13, 26), Navdeep (17), Navneet Kaur (20, 70), Reena Rani (22, 41, 44, 61), Navpreet Kaur (27, 50), Jyoti Dahiya (42), Malkeet Kaur (59) and Own Goal (68). Senior Women’s Hockey National Championship 2013 Updates, Railways and Karnataka are in Quarter Finals

Karnataka (from Pool G) has entered the quarterfinals of the 3rd Hockey India Senior Women National Hockey Championship being played at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium in the Guru Gobind Singh College.

Hockey India LogoWhile Railways have qualified for quarterfinals from Pool A, where the defending champions outclassed Uttarakhand (19-0) and Tamil Nadu (19-0).

23 April 2013: Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy (MPHA) won 20-0 against Jammu & Kashmir in a Pool D league match. Goal scorers for MPHA were Preeti (2, 4, 23 min), Reena Khokhar (6, 19, 34 min), Anuja (39, 40, 42 min), Jyoti (37, 41, 45 min), Rakhi (53, 67 min), Reema Katariya (1 min), Karishma (11 min), Shivani (14 min), Neha Rawat (68 min) and own goal (22, 58 min).
