Railway won Sr Women Hockey National 2015 (A-Division), Punjab 3rd

Women’s Hockey team of Railway Sports Promotion Board won the 5th Hockey India Senior Women National Championship 2015 (Division A) at SAFAI (Uttar Pradesh ) to make it double title for their employer. Earlier last week, their men counterparts had won the 5th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship 2015 (Division A) at Pune.

Railway Won the Hockey National Championship 2015 (A-Division)

Railway Sports Promotion Board today won the championship of the 5th Senior National Hockey Championship 2015 (Men) Div- A as the defeated Uttar Pradesh Hockey by 5-3 in the highly-contested final match in Pune. In the Bronze Medal match, Air India Sports Promotion Board (AISPB) outplayed Hockey Gangpur-Odisha by 5-3 to finish at 3rd position in the tournament.

Railways beat Haryana 4-0 to Win Sr Women Nationals (A-Division)

23 March 2014: Railway Sports Promotion Board defeated the defending Champions Haryana by 4-0 in the finals of the 4th Hockey India Senior Women National Championship 2014 (Division A) to emerge champions, while Jharkhand defeated Punjab 5-0 to finish 3rd the in the championship.

Coming into the match as the favorite for the title, Haryana could not live upto the expectations and allowed the pressure to seep in. Taking advantage of this Railway Sports Promotion Board kept the attack on the opponents in the entire first session. Their consistency saw results in the 25th minute when experience Indian forward Vandana Katariya scored a field goal for the team. Haryana-Railway face off for Sr Women Nationals Title (A-Division)

22nd March 2014: Defending Champions Haryana and Railway Sports Promotion Board prove their mettle in their respective semi-final matches to enter the finals of the 4th Hockey India Senior Women National Championship 2014 (Division A) to be played in Bhopal at Aish Bagh stadium tomorrow.

In the first semi-final, Haryana triumphed over Jharkhand with a handsome margin of 7-3. Though it was Jharkhand, who scored the first goal of the match and open their account in the 10th minute coming as a field goal through Poonam Barla, the Defending Champions Harayana reciprocated the favour within a minute when Manjit Kaur made no mistake in converting a penalty corner in the 11th minute itself. Followed by a field goal in the 13thminute coming from Navneet Kaur and in the 31st minute from Navjot Kaur, Haryana took over the game by 3-1. Jharkhand showed signs of a challenging battle when in the 33rd minute Poonam Barla again struck a goal for Jharkhand and reduced the margin to 3-2 by the end of the first half. Continue reading →

22nd March 2014: Air India Sports Promotion Board and Comptroller & Auditor General Of India beat Uttar Pradesh and Railway Sports Promotion Board respectively to set-up summit clash of the 4th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship 2014 (Division A) to be played at Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium in Lucknow tomorrow.

In the first semi-final, a tough fight was witnessed between Air India Sports Promotion Board and Uttar Pradesh where both teams showed extraordinary skills throughout the play. A small mistake by Uttar Pradesh gave Air India Sports Promotion Board a penalty corner opportunity in the 13th minute of the game and Gaganpreet Singh made no mistake in converting it into a goal and helped the team take a much-needed 1-0 lead.
