QLD Scorchers back on top spot in the Women’s Australian Hockey League

In the match of day in Round 6, hosts WA Diamonds took on the NSW Arrows in a crucial game for both teams. Both the Diamonds and Arrows were in good form coming off good wins against quality opposition, with WA defeating reigning premiers SA Suns and NSW upsetting top placed QLD Scorchers in Round 5. The Diamonds came into the round in joint 1st place with QLD, while NSW were tied for 4th with the SA Suns.

In a high tempo opening half, both teams seemed well rested after having a day off yesterday, resulting in exciting end to end hockey. WA was able to score first when striker Caitlin Pascov was slotted onepast Hockeyroos London Olympic Goalkeeper Toni Cronk on the 18 minute mark. Continue reading →
