On the 2nd Day of the Women’s Hockey Competition at the Riverbank Arena, World #1 team Netherlands will play Japan in the first match of day in the morning session at 8:30 (BST) on 31st July in the Pool A match, Japan never faced Netherlands in Olympics. Netherlands won their first of campaign (3-0 against Belgium) while Japanese women lost (0-4) to hosts Great Britain.
Asian Giants China and Korea will face Belgium at 13:45 and Great Britain at 16:00 BST respectively in Pool A matches. Beijing Silver Medalists China started on a winning note in the tournament, when they defeated Korea 4-0 in the campaign opener. Since it is Belgium’s first Olympics, it will be their first outing against China in the Olympics, while Korea and Great Britain have faced each other 5 times in the Olympics with 2 wins for either teams and their latest match was drawn in Olympics 2000.
