In the Men sections, Indain Oil defeated Indian Overseas Bank by 4-1 and Army XI defeated Bharat Petroleum 3-2 to entered semi finals of the tournament from their respective pools.
In the men section of the tournament, last year’s rumnners up Indian Oil, Mumbai defeated indian Overseas Bank by 4-1. In men section league match in Pool C Star studded Punjab Xi (Pakistan) displayed controlled and fast hockey in their first encounter against Punjab National Bank. Jalandhar November 3, 2014: Indian Oil Mumbai beat Rail Coach Factory (RCF Kapurthala) by 5-3 and Punjab Police beat Bharat Petroleum by 4-2 to earn full points in men’s section of the 31st Indian Oil Servo Surjit Hockey Tournament at Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium here today. In Women’s section RCF Kapurthala registered second consecutive victory by beating Haryana XI by 6-3.

In men section first match in Pool A last year’s runners-up Indian Oil beat RCF Kapurtahala. In the 10th minute of the match Olympian Parabhjot Singh netted the ball from left flank (1-0). In the 15th minute Vikas Sharma scored the goal from the top of the circle to make it 2-0 for Indian Oil. In 20th minute RCF’s Simrandeep Singh converted the penalty corner to reduce the margin. In men section Pool B match Army XI grounded Punjab Police by 4-1. Army took lead in 12th minute when their Siraju AP converted the penalty corner (1-0). Jalandhar 15 October 2013: ONGC defeated Punjab National Bank by 5-0 in Pool B in Quarter Finals League stage of the 30th Servo Indian Oil Surjit Hockey Tournament at Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium here today, while Mumbai XI beat Indian Overseas Bank 7-5 to finish the tournament on high note.

The team of ONGC needed a win to stay on track for the place in Semi Finals, and they outclassed the PNB who had won their previous match against BSF.
