IOCL (Indian Oil Corporation Limited) emerged as the champions of KSHA Ozonegroup National Hockey League Championship 2012-13 played at the KSHA Hockey Stadium, Bangatore from 1st to 20th April 2013.

IOCL, only undefeated team in the tournament, topped the points table with 22 points from 7 wins and a draw (against Air India) while runners-up Air India earned 17 points from 5 wins and 2 draws of 8 matches.

Defending Champions ONGC to Miss KSHA Ozonegroup National Hockey League Championship 2012-13

The 2012-13 edition of the KSHA flagship hockey event, OZONEGROUP NATIONAL HOCKEY LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP, will be played from 1st April, 2013 in Bangalore.

The defending champions ONGC will give a miss to this year’s edition, while Namdhari XI, who missed last edition, will join the 10 other teams in the tournament to be played from 1st to 20th April 2013 at the KSHA Hockey Stadium, Bangatore (map).

ONGC won KSHA – OZONE Group National Hockey League Championship 2011-12

ONGC won the KSHA – OZONE Group National Hockey League Championship 2011-12 with clear a margin of 5 points (27 points) from 2nd placed IOCL (22 points). ONGC who lost only one of their 10 matches in the league, was captained by Mandeep Antil. Second placed IOCL, lead by India’s experienced forward Deepak Thakur, finished the league with 22 points from 7 wins, 1 draw and 2 defeats. Air India finished 3rd with 21 points, while BPCL was placed at 4th place with 19 points.

Air India wins Ozonegroup Super Division Hockey League

Air India flies high on their return to Ozonegroup State Super Division hockey league, emerging champions with a 2-1 victory over Army Red in last match of the league.

In their last league encounter in the 11-team event, star studded team, which coached bye Gavin Ferreira secured their ninth win to tally 27 points and sneaked past second-placed BPCL (the only unbeaten side in the league this season) who logged 26 points from 8 wins and 2 draws.  Third placed IOCL lost a match to champions Air India and drew 1 is series to tally 25 points. Army Red could manage 4th place. Air India got Rs 2 lakh for their effort, BPCL Rs 1.5 lakh, IOCL Rs 1 lakh and Army Red Rs 0.5 lakh. Continue reading →
