Today Haryana XI beat Rest of Pakistan by 5-0 to jump ahead of Punjab XI on the basis of better goal average and booked a place women’s finals against RCF Kapurthala will be played on 7th November at 5-00 PM. Punjab-XI and Haryana-XI earned 4 points each from three outings each.
Though in the Pakistani girls lost this match by 5-0, but today their exhibited good hockey, well coordination but for their poor finishing, they failed to score. In the Men sections, Indain Oil defeated Indian Overseas Bank by 4-1 and Army XI defeated Bharat Petroleum 3-2 to entered semi finals of the tournament from their respective pools.
In the men section of the tournament, last year’s rumnners up Indian Oil, Mumbai defeated indian Overseas Bank by 4-1. In men section league match in Pool C Star studded Punjab Xi (Pakistan) displayed controlled and fast hockey in their first encounter against Punjab National Bank. Jalandhar November 3, 2014: Indian Oil Mumbai beat Rail Coach Factory (RCF Kapurthala) by 5-3 and Punjab Police beat Bharat Petroleum by 4-2 to earn full points in men’s section of the 31st Indian Oil Servo Surjit Hockey Tournament at Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium here today. In Women’s section RCF Kapurthala registered second consecutive victory by beating Haryana XI by 6-3.
