Indian Senior Women Hockey Team for 3rd Asian Champions Trophy

New Delhi, 25 October 2013: Today, Indian Senior Women Hockey Team was announced for the 3rd Asian Champions Trophy 2013.

The 18 member squad will be captained by midfielder Ritu Rani while midfielder Chanchan Devi will be her deputy for the tournament to be played from 2-9 November 2013 at the Green Stadium in Kakamigahara, Japan.

Apart from India and hosts Japan, China and Malaysia are other teams in the women’s tournament, while this year’s men’s tournament will see the Defending Champions Pakistan, 2011 Champions India, Malaysia, China, Oman and hosts Japan taking on each for the top honors. Continue reading →

New Delhi 30 May 2013: Ritu Rani will lead Indian Women’s Hockey Team in for FIH Women’s Hockey World League Round 3 (Semi-Finals) to be played at Rotterdam, The Netherlands from 13-23 June 2013.

48 Core Probables announced for Junior Men Coaching Camp to begin at Patiala from October 15

NEW DELHI, October 11: The 48 probables for the Indian Junior Team to compete in the 2nd Sultan of Johar Cup 2012, Malaysia will start training at the SAI Centre at the Netaji Subash National Institute of Sports in Patiala from October 15, Hockey India has announced.

Balbir Singh, B.P Govinda and Syed Ali alongwith Government Observer Harbinder Singh – all Olympians – selected a core group of 48 probables for the camp on the basis of their performance in the recently concluded 2nd Hockey India Junior Men National Championship in Lucknow.

The Indian team will take part in 2nd Sultan of Johar Cup 2012 in Malaysia from November 11 to 18. The tournament will also feature Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan and the hosts Malaysia.
