Major Dhyan Chand, born on August 29, 1905, the world’s greatest field hockey player of all time. His birthday is celebrated as India’s National Sports Day. On this occasion National Sports Awards are given away by the president of India. But the greatest sportsperson of India has not been given his due respect. Media will create a lot fuss about #7’s birthday or a bike ride, but did somebody write about the legend? Does he not deserve this much or we dont care about our heroes? I dont mind following the news about current sports legends, but we would be happier if we could see some news piece about dadda who brought 3 Gold Medals in Olympics (1928, 1932 and 1936) to India. I cant do justice by writing about him, but I can definitely request to remember the legend and pay tributes to the only HOCKEY KA JADUGAR (Hockey Wizard).
