Chandigarh, Services and CAG won in Lucknow Nationals (A-Division)

14 March 2014: On the opening day for Pool A and Pool B matches of the 4th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship 2014 (Division A) being played at Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium in Lucknow, Chandigarh Olympic Association, Services Sports Control Board and Comptroller & Auditor General of India, all registered their maiden win in their respective matches.

Chandigarh Olympic Association played an excellent match against Andhra Pradesh and defeated them with 4-2 in Pool A. Chandigarh Olympic Association was on a full throttle in the first half of the match as they dominated with a 2-0 lead till half time. Chandigarh’s Tarandeep Singh started off with the goal scoring spree for the team in the 9th minute of the game, followed by Navdeep Singh’s two goals in the 20th and 39th minute and Lakhwinder singh in the 51st minute. Haryana Junior Women’s Team Won Indian Hockey Nationals by Defeating MPHA on Golden Goal

1 May 2013: After Haryana Women’s team won Hockey National Championship yesterday, their Junior counterparts also won the title in their category. Junior Haryana defeated Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy 2-1 in the final of the 3rd Hockey India Junior Women National Championship at the Astroturf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi today, while hosts Jharkhand finished 3rd by defeated Punjab 6-0 in 3rd place play-off match.

Madhya Pradesh scored an opening goal through penalty corner converted by Shyama Tickadam in the 4th minute. In the 35th minute Haryana leveled the score through Navneet Kaur on penalty corner. Continue reading →
