19 March 2014: The hosts Karnataka tasted their first win as they defeated Hockey Bhopal with a proficient 4-1 in Pool B of the 4th Hockey India Junior Women National Championship 2014 (Division A) played at Chamundi Vihar Hockey Ground today.
Karnataka played a well strategized game today, as in the first half of the game they kept switching their stance between attack and defense. It was Karnataka’s Ramya N. who stroked in the first goal for the team just a minute before the end of the first half in the 34th minute and helped the team take a 1-0 lead till the half time. 13 March 2014: Hockey Gangpur-Odisha pipped Hockey Maharashtra by 3-2 in a nail-biting final match of the 4th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship 2014 (Division B) at Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium in Lucknow, while Mumbai defeated Namdhari XI 3-1 to finish third.

Both Hockey Gangpur-Odisha and Hockey Maharashtra went all out from the very beginning of the match which led to a 2-2 score on board by the end of the first half. This close fight saw attacks and counter-attacks. The Final and Bronze medal matches will be played tomorrow at 1400 and 1600 hours respectively at the same venue.
In a tough competition, both Hockey Gangpur-Odisha and Namdhari XI played strategically to restrict each other from scoring any goals and tried not committing any errors themselves. 10 March 2014: Namdhari XI and Mumbai emerged as the pool winners of Pool A and Pool B respectively, thus setting up semi-finals of the 4th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship 2014 (Division B) against Hockey Gangpur-Odisha and Maharashtra.

The semi-finals will be played on 12th March (Wednesday) at the Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium in Lucknow, while Division A of the tournament gets underway on 11th March at the same stadium.

9 March 2014: Namdhari XI and Mumbai registered their third consecutive victories on the day 11 of the 4th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship 2014 (Division B) being played at Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium in Lucknow.

In a Pool A match between Namdhari XI and Bihar, Karandeep Singh Dhillon of Namdhari alone pocketed 4 goals for the team at 8th, 16th, 25th and 64th minute of the game followed by Baljot Singh’s two goals at 15th and 47th minute. Naveen Minz, Bhim Kumar and Mangra Bhengra of Bihar only managed to strike one goal each at 12th, 40th and 51st minute of the game.
