5th March 2014: The 4th edition of the Hockey India Junior Women National Championship 2014 underway in Mysore, Karnataka and will conclude on 23rd March 2014.
The tournament will see 32 teams competing in two phases i.e. 16 teams in each of the Division A and B. The Division B of the championship started today i.e. 5th March and will conclude on 13 March 2014 while Division A will be played from 15- 23 March 2014.
This edition will see two new teams including Hockey Gangpur- Odisha and Vidarbha Hockey Association at the newly laid Astro Turf at Chamundi Stadium, Nazarabad, Mysore.
After a heavy rain on Tuesday, it was Manipur women, who rained 24 goals against Tripura. For Manipur it was Sarita Devi who led from the front and the scored as many as nine goals in a Pool A match on the first of the tournament. Continue reading →

Chhattisgarh defeated Kerala in a thriller to reach the top of Pool D, but their place in semi final will be dependent on the result of the match between Maharashtra and Delhi to be played tomorrow. Chhattisgarh will be in semis if Maharashtra fails to score a victory, otherwise Maharashtra will be through to final four.
In the first match of the day the audience witnessed Chhattisgarh Hockey defeating Kerala in a thrilling match. In the other match of the day, Bengal blanked Mizoram 5-0 with help of hat trick from Susheel Gupta in a Pool C league match. In the second consecutive win for Bengal, Asheesh Sengar and Sunil Shah scored a goal each to complete the tally. Bengal goalkeeper Bappa Saha denied any scoring opportunity to the opponents.
While during the match where Maharashtra took on Vidarbha Hockey Association, Kunal Jagdale struck three goals for Maharashtra to register a 6-1 win against Vidarbha Hockey Association in their Pool D league match. Continue reading →

Delhi registered their first win in Pool D as they defeated Kerala 4-1 on day-2 of the 4th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship played at Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium in Lucknow today.

After losing their first game against Vidarbha Hockey Association on the opening day of the championship, Delhi seemed a much better side today and scored twice in each half of the game. Manish Kumar, Shyambir, Abhishek and Praveen Kumar contributed a goal each in Delhi’s victory.
