Andrew Meredith will be National Coach of Irish Men’s Hockey Team

Irish Hockey is delighted to announce Andrew Meredith as the National Men’s Hockey Coach.
Meredith, born in Australia, is a FIH High Performance Coach and most recently worked alongside Markus Weise as the Assistant Coach of the men’s German team (2006 – 2012), where he has enjoyed a hugely successful coaching career including winning gold at the very recent London 2012 Olympics and at Beijing four years previously.

Beyond his extensive coaching credentials Meredith comes to the role with player experience and insights having competed himself at an international level representing the Australian U21 team before competing as a professional player for over 15 years in Holland, Germany, England and Scotland. Mike Heskin will be New Chief Executive of Irish Hockey

21st September 2012: Irish Hockey have today announced Mike Heskin as their new Chief Executive.

Heskin who comes from Galway has held a number of senior management position with Irish and multinational companies in the property, insurance services and healthcare sectors.

In 2010, Mike joined the board of Irish Hockey and served as its financial officer. Since then Mike has continued to serve on several committees within Irish hockey. Prior to his involvement with hockey, Mike served on the national executive of Rowing Ireland for six years and the international rowing committee for eight years. He has managed and coached Irish rowing teams at all levels including World Championships and Olympics where he was the rowing team manager for the Beijing Olympics. Continue reading →
