Olympian Gonzalez poised to earn 100th cap in opening match of World League at Londn

LONDON, England – June 22, 2013 – Only three years removed from her first international appearance for the U.S. Women’s National Team, 2012 Olympian and U.S. midfielder Melissa Gonzalez (Mohegan Lake, N.Y.) will earn her 100th cap for Team USA today in the opening match of the Investec Hockey World League Semi-Final in London.

I am so grateful to be a part of this team and am grateful to be given the opportunity to play alongside and against the best of the best.”

Earning 100 international caps is a remarkable accomplishment for any player; it’s particularly impressive for Gonzalez, who joined the National Team and made her first appearance with Team USA in 2010.
