Today at Junior and Senior Women’s Hockey National Championships 2013: Sr Rajasthan Register their 1st Win

25 April 2013: Five goals by Sonu helped Rajasthan beat Bengal 9-2 in a Pool B match of the 3rd Hockey India Senior Women National Hockey Championship at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium in the Guru Govind Singh Sports College, Lucknow. After losing two matches in the championship this is the first victory for Rajasthan.

Goal scorers for Rajasthan were Sonu (17, 21, 50, 58, 64 min), Jaya Chouhan (19, 52 min) and Prabhjot Kaur (61, 69 min). For Bengal scorers were Archana Kumari Tewari (5 min) and Rubi Khatun (39 min). Continue reading →

Junior Women’s Hockey National Championship 2013 Updates, Haryana & Odisha Reach Quarter-finals

23 April 2013: Pooja Rani, Jyoti Gupta and Reena Rani scored four goals each, as Haryana raced to 23-0 win against Uttarakhand in their concluding Pool A league game and entered the quarter-finals of 3rd Hockey India Junior Women National Championship being played at Astroturf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi.

Haryana went on to dominate from the starting of the match. Haryana who led 12-0 at the half time scored through Pooja Rani (1, 2, 7, 19), Nicky (9), Jyoti Gupta (11, 52, 53, 69), Deepti (13, 26), Navdeep (17), Navneet Kaur (20, 70), Reena Rani (22, 41, 44, 61), Navpreet Kaur (27, 50), Jyoti Dahiya (42), Malkeet Kaur (59) and Own Goal (68). Senior Women’s Hockey National Championship 2013 Updates, Railways and Karnataka are in Quarter Finals

Karnataka (from Pool G) has entered the quarterfinals of the 3rd Hockey India Senior Women National Hockey Championship being played at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium in the Guru Gobind Singh College.

Hockey India LogoWhile Railways have qualified for quarterfinals from Pool A, where the defending champions outclassed Uttarakhand (19-0) and Tamil Nadu (19-0).

23 April 2013: Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy (MPHA) won 20-0 against Jammu & Kashmir in a Pool D league match. Karnataka wins 2nd Hockey India Sub-Junior Boys and Girls National Championship (South Zone)

Trivandrum, October 22: Karnataka defeated Kerala 8-0 to win title of 2nd Hockey India Sub-Junior Boys National Championship (South Zone) at Trivandrum on Sunday.

Mohammad Raheel topped the score list for Karnataka with four goals (14th, 40th, 44th and 46th minute) followed by Harshith Aiyamma (11th minute), K. P Somaiah (16th minute), Machaiah (47th minute) and Prithviraj (51st minute). Continue reading →

Hosts Haryana becomes first team to enter quarterfinals of Junior Women’s Hockey Nationals

SONEPAT, Oct 2Navneet Kaur scored nine goals as host Haryana raced to 23-0 win against Goa in its concluding Pool E league game and became the first team to enter the quarterfinals of 2nd Hockey India Junior Women National Championship at Motilal Nehru School of Sports, Rai, today.

Navneet Kaur who scored six goals against Maharashtra in Haryana’s first match played an important role in team’s victory. Karishma & Manjeet perform hat-tricks in Chandigarh big victory

SONEPAT, Oct 1: Manjeet Rawal and Karishma Singh scored eight goals each as Chandigarh raced to a 23-0 win against Assam in its opening Pool C league game in the 2nd Hockey India Junior Women National Championship at the Motilal Nehru School of Sports, Rai today. Karishma Singh secured a double-hat-trick while Manjeet Rawal notched up a hat-trick herself.

In a Pool A game, Mizoram beat Andhra Pradesh 2-1. Lalhlunmawii scored for Mizoram in the 35th and 63rd minute after Avani Nattha had put Andhra Pradesh ahead in the 13th minute. Continue reading →
