Haryana Junior Women’s Team Won Indian Hockey Nationals by Defeating MPHA on Golden Goal

1 May 2013: After Haryana Women’s team won Hockey National Championship yesterday, their Junior counterparts also won the title in their category. Junior Haryana defeated Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy 2-1 in the final of the 3rd Hockey India Junior Women National Championship at the Astroturf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi today, while hosts Jharkhand finished 3rd by defeated Punjab 6-0 in 3rd place play-off match.

Madhya Pradesh scored an opening goal through penalty corner converted by Shyama Tickadam in the 4th minute. In the 35th minute Haryana leveled the score through Navneet Kaur on penalty corner. Continue reading →

Haryana Women are the Champions of Indian Hockey Nationals

30 April 2013: Haryana registered 4-1 victory over Railways to win the 3rd Hockey India Senior Women National Championship. While Jharkhand finished third in the championship, which was held at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium in the Guru Gobind Singh Sports College, Lucknow.

Railways scored their opening goal through Amandeep Kaur in the 15th minute. After conceding an early goal, Haryana forwards played attacking game and built pressure on their opponents. Haryana vs Jharkhand and Punjab vs MPHA in the Semi-Finals of Junior Women’s Hockey Nationals

Ranchi 29 April 2013:  Haryana will take on Jharkhand while Punjab will face Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy in the semi-finals of the 3rd Hockey India Junior Women National Championship being played at the Astroturf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi.

Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy registered easy win over Delhi 6-1 in the quarter-final match.
MPHA scored through R Ramngaihzuali (27 min), Diksha Tiwari (33 min), Priyanka Wankhede (35, 54, 58 min) and Own Goal (37 min). For Delhi Manisha Verma (57 min) scored the only goal. Continue reading →

Haryana take on Defending Champions Railways in Final of Senior Women’s Hockey Nationals

New Delhi, 29 April 2013: Last year’s runners-up Haryana scored a comprehensive 3-1 win over Punjab to enter the final of the 3rd Hockey India Senior Women National Championship being played at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium in the Guru Gobind Singh Sports College in Lucknow, while defending champions Railways defeated Jharkhand 2-1 in other semi-final to reach finals.

After playing a goalless half, Haryana forwards showcased their skills and pace from the start of the second half to enjoy the upper hand. Narinder scored an opening goal for Haryana in the 37th minute by converting a penalty corner. In the 46th minute Haryana scored its second goal through Reena Devi and three minutes later Udita scored another goal to give them a 3-0 lead. Continue reading →

27 April 2013: MPHA and Punjab complete the quarter-finals line-up of the 3rd Hockey India Junior Women National Championship being played at Astroturf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi.
