Day 7 of Pune Hockey Nationals 2013: Universities and Karnataka Won by Big Margins

New Delhi, 3 June 2013: On 7th day of Pune Hockey Nationals 2013, Association of Indian Universities and Karnataka registered big wins in their league matches played at Major Dhyan Chand Polygrass Hockey Stadium, Pimpri in Pune, while Services, Odisha and Manipur also won their respective matches.

3rd Hockey India Senior Men National Championship 2013Association of Indian Universities registered easy win over Gujarat 19-1 in their Pool A league match. The goal scorers for Association of Indian Universities were Razin Kandulana (4, 8, 17, 18, 23 min), Gurpreet Singh (5 min), Manjinder Singh (12, 55 min), Gurjant Singh (14, 42 min), Hardeep Singh (27, 68 min), Ravisher Singh (27 min), Satinder Dalal (33 min), Jaskaran Singh (50, 65 min), Jaswinder Singh (54 min) and Ramandeep Singh( 57, 64 min) while Ankit Thakur (46 min) scored the only goal for Gujarat. Railways, Haryana & Air India reach Pune Hockey Nationals 2013 Quarter-finals

New Delhi, 2 June 2013: Indian Railways, Air India and Haryana entered the quarter-finals of the Pune Hockey Nationals 2013. They defeated Namdhari XI, MPHA and Maharashtra respectively on 6th day of the 3rd Hockey India Senior Men National Championship 2013 played at Shiv Chattrapati Sports Complex in Pune to book their seats in knock out stage.

Air India defeated Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy 10-1 to qualify for the quarter-finals, to be played on 8th June.

Air India scored through Pradhan Somanna (11 min), Vikram Pillay (15, 66 min), Joga Singh (23, 54 min), Affan Yousuf (35, 37 min), Sameer Dad (60 min, Swamy Vinaya (62 min) and Arjun Halappa (68 min) while Vikas Choudhary (19 min) scored the only through Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy. Senior Men’s Hockey National Championship 2013 to Start in Pune from 28 May

New Delhi, 27 May 2013: The 3rd edition of the Hockey India Senior Men National Championship will be played at Pune, Maharashtra from 28 May-10 June 2013.

In 2013 edition of the championship, as many as 38 teams will be participating in the championship which will be played on a league cum knockout basis on the Major Dhyan Chand Polygrass Hockey Stadium Pimpri and Shiv Chhatrapati Shivaji Sports Complex in Pune.

This year four new teams including Comptroller and Auditor General, Sports Authority of India, Mumbai Hockey Association Limited and Namdhari XI will participate apart from 34 teams which participated in last edition. Continue reading →

Haryana Beat MPHA to Win Sub-Junior Women Hockey National Championship 2013, Odisha won Men’s Title

New Delhi, 27 May 2013: Haryana defeated defending champions Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy 3-2 in the final of the 3rd Hockey India Sub-Junior Women National Championship (Finals) 2013 at Aish Bagh Hockey Stadium in Bhopal, while Odisha thrashed Jharkhand by 8-0 to win Men’s title.

The goal scorers for Haryana were Sonika (3 min), Ritu (35 min) and Navneet Kaur (49 min) while Karishma (4 min) and Neelu (24 min) were on target for Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy, as MPHA failed to defend its title. Continue reading →

Sub-Junior Hockey National Championship (Final) 2013: MPHA vs Haryana in Women’s and Jharkhand vs Odisha in Men’s Final

New Delhi, 26 May 2013: Defending champions Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy will take on Haryana in the final of women’s category of the 3rd Hockey India Sub-Junior National Hockey Championship (finals) 2013, while Jharkhand will face their neighbours Odisha in men’s category final.

The Fans of HockeyA fine display by their forwards in the penalty shoot-out guided Haryana women to a 4-2 win over Chandigarh after the teams were tied 2-2 at the end of the regulation time in the first semi-final. Haryana scored 2-0 through Reet and Deevika in the shoot-out. Day 4 at Sub-Junior Hockey National Championship (Final) 2013: Chandigarh and MPHA Complete Women’s Semis Line-up

New Delhi, 24 May 2013: Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy and Chandigarh women entered the semi-finals of the 3rd Hockey India Sub-Junior Men & Women National Championship (Final) 2013 played at SAI Centre, Bhopal on Friday and now will face Jharakhand and Haryana in semi-finals respectively to be played tomorrow.

Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy defeated Karnataka 6-1 in their last league encounter of Pool A. The goal scorers for Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy were Upasna (10 min), Anuja (39, 52 min), Preeti (40 min), Karishma (65 min) and Neha (70 min) while Spurthi (12 min) scored the only goal for Karnataka.
