Odisha Won 4th Sub Junior Hockey Nationals 2014 – Men (A Division)

Ranchi, 25th May 2014: Hockey Odisha emerged as the champions of the 4th Sub Junior National Hockey Championship 2014 – Men (A Division) by winning over Haryana 3-1 in the final played at Ranchi, Jharkhand. Whereas, Punjab finished 3rd place by defeating Jharkhand with a score of 3-1 on board.

In an exciting match played between Hockey Odisha and Haryana, Odisha lifts the title and defeated Haryana with a mere goal margin of 3-1. Railways beat Haryana 4-0 to Win Sr Women Nationals (A-Division)

23 March 2014: Railway Sports Promotion Board defeated the defending Champions Haryana by 4-0 in the finals of the 4th Hockey India Senior Women National Championship 2014 (Division A) to emerge champions, while Jharkhand defeated Punjab 5-0 to finish 3rd the in the championship.

Coming into the match as the favorite for the title, Haryana could not live upto the expectations and allowed the pressure to seep in. Taking advantage of this Railway Sports Promotion Board kept the attack on the opponents in the entire first session. Their consistency saw results in the 25th minute when experience Indian forward Vandana Katariya scored a field goal for the team. Just before going into the break Railways Sports Promotion Board scored their 2nd goal in the 34th minute when Captain TH Chanchan pounded the ball past the goalkeeper and converted a field goal. Haryana: Jr Women National Champions for 3rd Consecutive Time

23 March 2014: Defending Champions Harayna retained the title by defeated Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy 2-0 in final of the 4th Hockey India Jr. Women National Championship 2014 ( Division A ) at Chamundi vihar Astro turf Ground today. While Jharkhand defeated Odisha  to win bronze medal.

Haryana-Railway face off for Sr Women Nationals Title (A-Division)

22nd March 2014: Defending Champions Haryana and Railway Sports Promotion Board prove their mettle in their respective semi-final matches to enter the finals of the 4th Hockey India Senior Women National Championship 2014 (Division A) to be played in Bhopal at Aish Bagh stadium tomorrow.

In the first semi-final, Haryana triumphed over Jharkhand with a handsome margin of 7-3. Though it was Jharkhand, who scored the first goal of the match and open their account in the 10th minute coming as a field goal through Poonam Barla, the Defending Champions Harayana reciprocated the favour within a minute when Manjit Kaur made no mistake in converting a penalty corner in the 11th minute itself. Followed by a field goal in the 13thminute coming from Navneet Kaur and in the 31st minute from Navjot Kaur, Haryana took over the game by 3-1. Jharkhand showed signs of a challenging battle when in the 33rd minute Poonam Barla again struck a goal for Jharkhand and reduced the margin to 3-2 by the end of the first half. Continue reading →

22nd March 2014: Haryana defeated Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy overcame Hockey Odisha to enter the finals of the 4th Hockey India Junior Women National Championship 2014 (Division A) to be played at Chamundi Vihar Hockey Ground in Mysore tomorrow.

Haryana will meet Jharkhand and Hockey Odisha to fight Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy in the semi-finals this Saturday.

In Pool B match, Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy registered their third consecutive win after beating Bhopal 4-0 and qualified to play the semi-finals. Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy’s Rakhi Prajapati damaged Bhopal’s confidence in the 9th minute of the game by successfully piercing in a field goal. Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy took the lead ahead with a 3-0 margin by the end of the first half when Captain Priyanka Wankhede and Suman Devi TH struck two field goals in a span of two minutes in the 20th and 21st minute, respectively.
