Bhopal, October 17: Punjab pulled off a fine 5-1 win against Indian Universities in Pool D league match of 2nd Hockey India Senior Women National Championship, Bhopal on Wednesday.

Punjab for whom Skipper Amandeep Kaur (2), Ramanjeet Kaur (1), Sangeeta Minz (1) and Sadhna (1) scored, just posted their first win in the group, while Indian Universities reply came from Narinder Kaur (1).   Continue reading →

Sonepat, Oct 12: Host Haryana registered 5-4 win over Chandigarh in the final of 2ndHockey India Junior Women National Championship, here on Friday.

In a high voltage clash Haryana scored through Navjot Kaur (24th), Navneet Kaur (44th), Reena Rani (55, 67) and an own goal in 16th minute while Hardeep Kaur (3rd), Pooja Rani (14th , 59th ) and Navpreet Kaur (52th) were on target for Chandigarh. Continue reading →

Host Haryana face Chandigarh in the final of Junior Women’s Hockey Nationals

Sonepat, Oct 11: Host Haryana scored a comprehensive 5-3 win over last years runners-up Jharkhand to enter the final of 2nd Hockey India Junior Women National Championship, here on Thursday.

Leading 3-1 at half-time, Haryana scored through Navneet Kaur (8th, 10th ), Manjit Kaur (11th, 46th) and Malkit Kaur (43rd) while Punam M. Tete (24th ) and Sabnam Lakra (45th, 57th ) were on target for Jharkhand. Continue reading →

Chandigarh, Haryana complete semi-final line-up of Junior Women’s Hockey Nationals

SONEPAT, Oct 9:  Haryana muscled past Odisha 6-1 here on Tuesday to set up a mouth watering semi-final clash with runners-up Jharkhand in the 2nd Hockey India Junior Women National Championship at Motilal Nehru School of Sports, Rai.

In the semi-finals to be played on Thursday October 11, defending champion Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy take on Chandigarh at 2 PM while last year runners-up Jharkhand will clash with the hosts Haryana at 4PM. Continue reading →

Jharkhand, MPHA enter Semi-finals of Junior Women’s Hockey Nationals

SONEPAT, Oct 8: Scoring twice in each half, Jharkhand edged out Punjab 4-1 and entered the semi-final of 2nd Hockey India Junior Women National Championship at Motilal Nehru School of Sports, Rai here on Monday.

Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand Qualify for Quarterfinals of Junior Women’s Hockey Nationals

SONEPAT, Oct 6: Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand completed the quarter-final line-up with emphatic victories in the concluding league matches of 2nd Hockey India Junior Women National Championship at Motilal Nehru School of Sports, Rai on Saturday.

Unbeaten Odisha topped pool with a 5-2 win over Karnataka who could not sustain the initial spirit in the game. Odisha displayed far more vigour and focus from the starting of the game when they came up with some flowing moves that marked the first, second and third goals to dismantle the Karnataka’s defence that caved in under ceaseless pressure.
