The India Men Hockey Team arrived with a boosted confidence after a successful campaign in New Zealand. The team reached the Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi last night. India scored a resounding 2-0 win in first two games against New Zealand A and secured a series win against the New Zealand national team 2-1 in a four-match series.

Defending Champions India went down fighting by 4-3 against last year’s finalists Great Britain in the 5th Sultan of Johor Cup 2015 in a well contested match.

It was an important match for both the teams as, while Great Britain was looking at settling scores with India for their Finale loss to them last year, India was looking at registering their second consecutive win in the tournament post their convincing win against Pakistan yesterday. The Defending Champions commenced the 5th Sultan of Johor Cup with perfect style as they went on to beat arch rivals Pakistan by 5-1. The visitors India men and Argentina women edged past the Black Sticks teams by just one goal respectively, at Marist Park at St Bede’s College in Christchurch (New Zealand) tonight. The winning goals came in the last few minutes of the matches.

With this win, India are leading in the series by 2-1, as India lost the 1st match of the series by 2-0 and won second match by 3-1 at Nelson.
