mIIndian womens started their journey on “Hero FIH Road to London” on a disappointing note when they were held by lowly ranked Ukraine 1-1, on the other hand their mens counterpart performed as per expectation when they thrashed the minnows Singapore with score line reading 15-1 at the end of 70 minutes.

Indian women’s team slow in start, the first half saw a under-standard performance by Indian eves, but when they came out with loaded ammunition in second half, could only manage to level the score through Yendala Soundarya in 42nd minute. Some contraversial decision by umpires made sure that Ukraine escaped with the one point from the match after taking the lead in 26th through captain Maryna Vynohradova in penalty corner.
