Players opting out of WSH? But why, how it will help Indian Hockey?
Hockey is in prime time news again, with some good news (India reached semis of Champions Challenge I) and obviously, why the bad news will go away from hockey? The reason is mentioned in the letter to Hockey India duly undersigned by the players. Famous cricket commentator and motivational speaker Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha) tweeted, “if hockey india had supported indian hockey with the same intensity with which they oppose wsh, there would have been no need for wsh!!”
UK’s Hockey Magazine “PUSH Hockey” (@PUSHHOCKEYMAG) tweeted after India won quarter finals against Malaysia, “Memo to Hockey India: next
#champschallenge match – more time preparing players, less time getting them to sign memos #wsh”
The PUSH Hockey replied to @thefansofhockey “The timing makes one suspect that wanting the success of the India national side is not HI’s primary motivation” on asking “but what do you say about the timing of announcement Hockey India? In the middle of Champs1
