In an exciting clash against Ireland in the second test match against Ireland in Dublin, the Indian Women Hockey Team obtained another win by defeating them 2-1. While, in the fourth build-up game of the Europe Tour played in Netherlands, India went down fighting 2-4 to The Netherlands yesterday.

India forced first PC of the game and from straight strike a deflection by Soundarya was lifted over McFerran which gave India the lead in 19m. Two further PC’s for India gave the visitors a 2 goal lead this time Sunita Lakra finished at near post in the 21minute. Ireland almost got one backa few moments later when Pinder set up O Flanagan but her shot was just wide. 26th March 2014: Double Olympian Jude Felix has been appointed as Coach of the Senior Men National Hockey Team of India. He will work under Chief Coach Terry Walsh.

Jude will join the training camp of the senior men hockey team on 27 March 2014 at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in Delhi for preparations of the FIH Men’s World Cup 2014 to be held at The Hague, Netherlands from 31 May – 15 June 2014. He is appointed on a probationary period of three months with the senior men hockey team.
Speaking on the appointment Jude Felix, Coach, Senior Men National Hockey Team said, “I am coming with the vast years of my playing and coaching experience at different levels. I am confident that I will be able to make a contribution to players individually and team as a whole. Working with two great coaches in Roelant Oltmans and Terry Walsh, I am looking forward to learning from them and passing on the knowledge to as many coaches as possible in India”. Continue reading →

Following the conclusion to the inaugural edition of the men’s Hockey World League competition in New Delhi, India, the FIH has now revealed the pools for this summer’s Rabobank Hockey World Cup in The Hague, Netherlands.
Pool A will consist of the 2010 World Cup champions Australia (World Ranking: 1), England (4), Belgium (5), India (8), Spain (10) and Malaysia (13), while Olympic champions Germany (2) will face hosts, the Netherlands (3), New Zealand (6), Korea (7), Argentina (11) and South Africa (12) in Pool B.
