7 March 2014: Namdhari XI, Bihar, Mumbai and Uttarakhand won their respective matches on the day-9 of the 4th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship 2014 (Division B) being played at Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium in Lucknow.

In Pool A, Namdhari XI registered an easy win against Gujarat by leaving them behind with a score of 9-0 on board. Namdhari XI claimed their first win in their very first match of the pool leaving Gujarat with yet another loss. Namdhari XI went all out from the very beginning of the match, where Bhagat Singh Dhillon scored two goals at 5th and the 15th minute of the game by converting both the penalty corners followed by the field goals by Santa Singh at 27thminute and Captain Kuldeep Singh at 29th minute taking the score to 4-0 in the first half of the game. The first match played between Bihar and Gujarat witnessed Bihar going all out from the very start. Though, Gujarat’s Krushsingh Zala scored the very first goal of the game at the 9th minute, it was Bihar’s Md Reyazuddin, Naveen Minz and Mangra Bhengra who in return scored at the 11th, 14th and 21st minute respectively, to take the lead by 3-1 in the first half of the match. Gujarat played a defensive game in the second half of the game but couldn’t stop Bihar’s Naveen Minz from scoring another goal at 40th minute and wrapping the game at 4 goals to 1. Continue reading →
Maharashtra played out a tough 3-3 draw against Delhi at the Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium in Lucknow on day-7 of the 4th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship 2014 (Division B) to secure themselves a place in semi finals.
Post the match both Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh are placed with 11 points each on the table in Pool D. But Maharashta piped Chhattisgarh in points table on the basis of goal difference to qualify for the semi-finals. While Hockey Gangpur – Odisha, having 15 points in their kitty, have entered the semi-finals of the 4th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship from Pool ‘C’.
The first match between Bengal and Assam witnessed Bengal leading with 1-0 score till half time. Assam played a better game in the first half but lost control in the second half and gave away 2 more goals and lost the match by 3-0 to Bengal. Continue reading →
9 June 2013: Chandigarh easily defeated Goa 17-0 in their Pool H league match of the 3rd Hockey India Junior Men National Championship 2013 being played at Moti Lal Nehru Sports Complex, Rai in Sonepat.
Chandigarh scored through Kanwaldeep Singh (12 min), Sahepreet Singh (17, 44, 46, 52, 53, 69 min), Gursewak Singh (21 min), Harpreet Singh (23, 28 min), Gagandeep Singh (24 min), Sukhjeet Singh (34 min), Amrit Pal Singh (35 min), Baljot Singh (43 min), Own Goal (54 min) and Narinder Pal Singh (58, 67 min).

8 June 2013: Delhi entered the quarter-finals of the 3rd Hockey India Junior Men National Championship played at Moti Lal Nehru Sports Complex, Rai in Sonepat on Saturday.
Delhi registered a second consecutive win in Pool-D, as they defeated Andhra Pradesh 4-1. After conceding an early goal in the first half, Delhi came from behind and scored four goals in the other half. Turning point came in the match when Jugraj Singh scored the opening goal for Delhi in the 36th minute after which Delhi scored another three goals. 7 June 2013: Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy became the fourth team to qualify for the quarter-finals of the 3rd Hockey India Junior Men National Championship being played at Moti Lal Nehru Sports Complex, Rai in Sonepat (Haryana).
Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy defeated Bihar 11-1 in their last league match of Pool G to join hosts Haryana, Punjab and SAI in quarter-finals. Madhya Pradesh scored through Mohammad Nizamuddin (4 min), Izhar Qureshi (1, 9, 36 min), Sumit Patel (25 min), Mohammad Umar (27 min), Amir Shafique (33 min), Abhay Yadav (56 min), Nicky Kaushal (63, 68 min) and Arjun Sharma (64 min) while Bihar’s only reply came from Raushav Kumar (61 min) .
