Raipur to host 2015 Men’s Hockey World League Final

  • Raipur International Hockey Stadium will host the 2015 Men’s Hockey World League Final
  • First international hockey event to be held in city of Raipur

The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has announced that the 2015 men’s Hockey World League Final will be hosted by the Indian city of Raipur, Chhattisgarh between 27 November and 6 December 2015.

The event will be held in the 3,000 capacity Raipur International Hockey Stadium which was opened as a dedicated hockey facility in August 2014. Continue reading →

A dramatic late goal from Chris Ciriello gave Kookaburras, the Men’s Hockey team of Australia a 1-0 win over host nation Belgium to secure a first place finish at the FINTRO Hockey World League Semi-Final in Antwerp. Ciriello – who scored a hat-trick in the final of last year’s Rabobank Hockey World Cup – struck with a blistering overtime penalty corner drag-flick to give the Kookaburras a hard-earned win in a fantastic and hugely competitive match with the Red Lions. Great Britain beat India by 5-1 to finish 3rd in #HWL2015

A stunning attacking display from Bobby Crutchley’s Great Britain team blew India away as five different players helped themselves to goals in a 5-1 win. The win gave GB third place in the FINTRO Hockey World League Semi-Final 2015 in Antwerp, Belgium and confirmed a place in both the World League Final and at the Rio Olympics.
