India beat Spain by 4-2 in final test to win series by 2-1

The India men hockey fought back and won the series by winning two matches after losing opening match of the series against Spain. India forward player Ramandeep Singh’s two spectacular goals within a minute helped the Indian team to outplay Spain by 4-2 in the match played in Terrassa, Spain.

Spain had defeated India by 4-1 in first match, while India leveled the series by winning 2nd match with score board reading 2-0. With India winning third match, they finished as winner of the series by 2-1.

After losing 1-4 in 1st match against Spain, the India Men Team beat Spain 2-0 in their second match played at Sant Cugat del Valles. These results levels the series at 1-1 and set-up interesting stage for 3rd and final test match between two teams.

Hosts Spain defeated the India Men Hockey Team 4-1 in their first match of three match series. After SV Sunil scored equalizer in first half, the hosts scored 3 more goals in 2nd half to win the match at Sant Cugat del Valles on 10th August 2015.

Post winning the series with France by 2-0, the India Men Hockey Team is all set to clash against Spain in the opening match tomorrow, 10 August 2015.

India scored 2-0 and 4-1 victories against France at Le Touquet and Wattigies Sports Centre respectively. In the first match of the tour, Chinglensana Singh and SV Sunil scored for India to win the match. Young drag flick expert Gurjinder starred in the match at Wattigies Sports Centre by scoring 2 goals in 14th minute and 44th minute, while Amir and Rupinder Pal scored once each on penalty corner 30th and 52nd minute respectively.

Coached by Roelant Oltmans and motivated with these victories against french side, India will be eyeing to win its three matches against Spain and keep their winning campaign intact. Continue reading →

Indian Men Hockey team to play Spain and France in Europe Tour

The Indian Men Hockey Team will be playing against France and Spain in their Europe tour from 31 July to 14 August 2015 in five matches.During the Tour, India will play twice against France and thrice against Spain in preparation for the all important FIH Hockey World League Final to be held in India later this year.

India Lost to Netherlands in Last Match of Europe Tour

Much improved Indian Senior Men Hockey Team ended up on losing side in their last game of the Europe Tour against Netherlands at the Hague, in The Netherlands today.

After winning their first game of the tour against Leiden Hockey Club (Dutch National Hockey Club) 7-0, and drawing 3-3 in the second match against HGC Hockey Club (Dutch National Club), Indian team had lost to Belgium (1-2) and Netherlands (2-4) national teams. This tour is in preparations for the FIH Men’s World Cup 2014, scheduled to be held at The Hague, Netherlands from 31 May -15 June 2014.

In their last match of the tour, India displayed some good hockey, but were unlucky to not to win the game against London Olympics Silver Medalists the Netherlands. Continue reading →
