Parnham announces 30 players to U.S. Women’s National Field Hockey Squad
following conclusion of week-long selection tournament
NORFOLK, Va. – May 29, 2013 – The 2013 Women’s National Championship athletes have exerted their entire selves through years of competition and training in hopes of a single sound. Although welcomed, it’s not the deafening applause from a stadium-packed crowd or the high shrill of an umpire’s whistle after a goal. Rather in a momentous fashion, it is the faint sound of a single page turning – a new chapter that signifies reaching the very pinnacle of field hockey and the honor of embodying the nation.

Parnham was part of the team that led Great Britain to two Olympic Games and multiple podium finishes on the international stage over the last five years
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Field Hockey announced today Craig Parnham, Assistant Coach at Great Britain Hockey for the past five years, who was part of the team that led Great Britain to the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games, has been named head coach of the U.S. Women’s National Team. Parnham will relocate to Chula Vista, California with his wife, Emma, in early February.
“This is a wonderful opportunity and a new challenge for me,” said Parnham. “I think Team USA has a great deal of potential and I look at this as an opportunity for me to come in and make a big impact. I am excited to get out on the pitch and start working with the players on the team.”
