Maharashtra & Chhattisgarh in Race for Semis Spot from Pool D

Today, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh won their respective matches in Pool D to keep themselves in race for a place in semis of the B Division of 4th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship being played at Major Dhyan Chand Stadium in Lucknow.

In the other match of the day, Bengal blanked Mizoram 5-0 with help of hat trick from Susheel Gupta in a Pool C league match. In the second consecutive win for Bengal, Asheesh Sengar and Sunil Shah scored a goal each to complete the tally. Bengal goalkeeper Bappa Saha denied any scoring opportunity to the opponents.

Debutants Gangpur Stay on Top of Pool C in B Division at Nationals

Hockey Gangpur- Odisha registered their fourth consecutive win to stay on the top of Pool-C and stay strong contender of a place in semi-final of the B Division of 4th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship as they defeated Tripura by 9-0 at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in Lucknow today.

Delhi registered their first win in Pool D as they defeated Kerala 4-1 on day-2 of the 4th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship played at Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium in Lucknow today.

After losing their first game against Vidarbha Hockey Association on the opening day of the championship, Delhi seemed a much better side today and scored twice in each half of the game. Manish Kumar, Shyambir, Abhishek and Praveen Kumar contributed a goal each in Delhi’s victory.

Debutants Gangpur and Vidarbha Start Nationals on Winning Note

Hockey India LogoDebutant teams Hockey Gangpur- Odisha and Vidarbha Hockey Association started their campaign on a winning note in Division B of the 4th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship commenced at Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium in Lucknow on today.

As many as 42 teams, including four debutants namely Hockey Gangpur- Odisha, Vidarbha Hockey Association, Central Reserve Police Force and Food Corporation of India, are participating in the 2014 edition of the championship which is being played on a league cum knockout basis at the Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium in Lucknow. Day 4 of Junior Men’s Hockey Nationals 2013: Punjab, Haryana and SAI reach Quarters

6 June 2013: Hosts Haryana, Punjab and Sports Authority of India (SAI) won respectively matches on 4th day of Junior Men’s Hockey Nationals being played at Moti Lal Nehru Sports Complex, Rai in Sonepat. These are the 1st set of the teams of who have qualified for the knock out stage (quarter-finals) of the tournament i.e. 3rd Hockey India Junior Men National Championship 2013.

The Fans of HockeyParvinder Singh and Gurjant Singh scored twice each as Punjab defeated Jharkhand 7-2 in their last league match of Pool A. Punjab scored through Harsahib Singh (2 min), Parvinder Singh (5, 67 min), Gurjant Singh (11, 15 min), Lovepreet Singh (17 min) and Ajit Pandit (64 min) while Mangra Bhengra (37 min) and Sumanta Hemrom (48 min) scored for Jharkhand.
