West Coast Kings Blazing a Trail with Their Annual Canada Cup International Hockey Tournament

Surrey (Canada): After last year’s successful inaugural Canada Cup International Hockey Tournament, the anticipation is high this year as field hockey enthusiasts are already buzzing about the much-anticipated 2012 Tournament featuring players from around the world.

Running from July 13–15, this three-day field hockey extravaganza, organized by the West Coast Kings Field Hockey Club, will showcase the world’s best teams and highlight the skill and talent of players at Surrey’s Tamanawis Field located at 126 Street and 64 Avenue. The tournament will commence on Friday morning, followed by festivities in the afternoon, including an opening ceremony and diverse individuals from Olympians and top-notch field hockey players to sponsors and entertainers.

“Field hockey is one of the most challenging games played because of the amount of skill that it requires. Athletes can be fast and strong, but they also need to learn finesse to dribble and trap the ball. The goal of our widely experienced club will be to hone in on developing that skill base with the club’s athletes,” according to the West Coast Kings member board. Continue reading →
