Canadian Women’s Jr. Nat’l Field Hockey Team faces Argentina and Chile in Buenos Aires

The Canadian Women’s Junior National Field Hockey Team is currently in Buenos Aires, Argentina competing against Team Chile and the power-house Leoncitas of Argentina – two of Canada’s main opponents at the upcoming Junior Pan American Championships in September.  This series marks the beginning of a heavy training phase for the Junior Women as they prepare for the Championships in Guadalajara, which also serve as a qualifier for the 2013 Junior World Cup.

Indian Women’s in Argentina for 2 four Nation Tournaments (Schedule)

India will participate in two Women Four Nation Tournaments in Argentina starting from tomorrow till 18 December 2011. The first Tournament will be played at Buenos Aires from while the second will be at Parana from 14-18 December 2011. Apart from hosts Argentina, South Africa and Ireland are participating team.

Midfielder Asunta Lakra with 80 International Caps will lead the team while Kirandeep Kaur wityh 76 Caps will be the Vice Captain. Indian team will miss in-form experience defender Joydeep Kaur, who got injured during Australian tour of India which included Lanco International Super Series. Indian eves performed impressively during the tour and are expected to continue their good run towards preparing for Olympic Qualifiers, to be played from 15th February 2012 in New Delhi.
