Australia’s women’s hockey team, the Hockeyroos and their major sponsor Ausdrill raised money during a community engagement trip to Kalgoorlie in May for supporting National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). The Pretty in Pink Hockeyroos were joined by NBCF and Ausdrill representatives at the training today, when the reigning Commonwealth Games gold medallists presented NBCF with a cheque for $9092.05.
In a thrilling game, that could well have been a preview of this year’s Women’s AHL Grand Final, QLD Scorchers have survived a fast finishing WA Diamonds to win 2-1 and remain the only undefeated team after 4 rounds of the Women’s AHL.
Both WA and QLD were without a loss, coming into this top of the table clash and anticipation was high in front of a big crowd at Perth Hockey Stadium (PHS). For this round, Hockey WA and the WA Diamonds were assisting in raising awareness and funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, by collecting gold coin donations on entry, along with the Diamonds sporting special pink socks for the match. Spectators were also asked to wear pink clothing for the day and a large number showed up to PHS in their best pink attire to support this great cause. Continue reading →
