In the Men sections, Indain Oil defeated Indian Overseas Bank by 4-1 and Army XI defeated Bharat Petroleum 3-2 to entered semi finals of the tournament from their respective pools.
In the men section of the tournament, last year’s rumnners up Indian Oil, Mumbai defeated indian Overseas Bank by 4-1. In the other match in men section CAG Delhi and Namdhari XI Sirsa locked at 1-1 and earned one point each, while in Women Section With the help of hat-trick of Narinder Kaur, Punjab XI (India) beat Rest of Pakistan by 4-0 to earn three points in round robin league fixtures.
In men section league match in Pool C Star studded Punjab Xi (Pakistan) displayed controlled and fast hockey in their first encounter against Punjab National Bank. In the very first minute of the play Punjab XI (Pakistan) took lead with the field goal scored by Moh. Afzal (1-0). Jalandhar November 3, 2014: Indian Oil Mumbai beat Rail Coach Factory (RCF Kapurthala) by 5-3 and Punjab Police beat Bharat Petroleum by 4-2 to earn full points in men’s section of the 31st Indian Oil Servo Surjit Hockey Tournament at Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium here today. In Women’s section RCF Kapurthala registered second consecutive victory by beating Haryana XI by 6-3.

In men section first match in Pool A last year’s runners-up Indian Oil beat RCF Kapurtahala. In the 10th minute of the match Olympian Parabhjot Singh netted the ball from left flank (1-0). In the 15th minute Vikas Sharma scored the goal from the top of the circle to make it 2-0 for Indian Oil. In 20th minute RCF’s Simrandeep Singh converted the penalty corner to reduce the margin. In Women section’s first match Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala beat Punjab XI (India) by 5-1 to get three points. In men sections Army XI beat Punjab Police by 4-1, Punjab National Bank edged past ONGC by 1-0 and Holders Punjab & Sind Bank defeated Namdhari XI by 4-2.
In men section Pool B match Army XI grounded Punjab Police by 4-1. Army took lead in 12th minute when their Siraju AP converted the penalty corner (1-0). In 19th minute Punjab Police scored equalizer with the field goal by Jagmeet Singh (1-1). In 29th minute of the play Army once again took lead with penalty corner conversion by Siraju AP (2-1). Jalandhar 16 October 2013: The semifinal line up of the 30th Indian Oil Sarvo Surji Singh Hockey Tournament is known. The defending champions IOCL will face Army XI, while ONGC take on PSB in the semi-finals to be played tomorrow, which will be live on PTC channel.

On the last of day quarter-final league stage, Punjab & Sind Bank became the third team to qualify for semis while ONGC completed the semi-final line-up.
ONGC defeated BSF 3-0 to top the Pool-B. It was a bad day for BSF which conceded a self-goal to their rivals through Raj Singh in the 24th minute. ONGC leading 1-0 at half time, doubled the lead through Bikash Topo in the 49th minute. And Sarabjit Singh scored a field goal in the 61st minute to complete the tally of 3-0 for ONGC. In the first match of the day, runners-up of last edition BPCL defeated PSPCL by 6-1 in Pool ‘D’ match whereas defending champions IndianOil beat Punjab Police by 3-1 in Pool ‘A’, in the mean while, Punjab XI, Pakstani Women hockey team arrived in Jalandhar today, who will play their Indian counterpart Punjab XI (India) in a three test match series on 14, 15 and 17 October during the tournament.
