After a convincing victory over Germany U-21 by 3-0 in the opening match, India U-21 Men Team won their second match against New Zealand U-21 by 3-0 in the Volvo International U-21 (Men) Tournament played at Breda, The Netherlands. In the women’s competition, Indian team lost to the hosts Netherlands by 0-1 in their opening match.

The India Junior Men Team was announced today for the Volvo International U-21 Men Tournament 2015. The tournament will be played in the Netherlands from 18th July to 25th July 2015 in Breda.
Six teams will compete against each other in a Round-Robin format in the tournament. The Junior Hockey team of India will face the hosts Netherlands, Germany, England, Belgium and New Zealand will play for the top honors.
The Volvo International Tournament 2015 will provide a testing platform to the U-21 Men team, who are even gearing-up from the upcoming Men’s Junior Asian Cup 2015 in Malaysia and the FIH Junior World Cup 2016 (Men) 2016. Continue reading →

A dramatic late goal from Chris Ciriello gave Kookaburras, the Men’s Hockey team of Australia a 1-0 win over host nation Belgium to secure a first place finish at the FINTRO Hockey World League Semi-Final in Antwerp. Ciriello – who scored a hat-trick in the final of last year’s Rabobank Hockey World Cup – struck with a blistering overtime penalty corner drag-flick to give the Kookaburras a hard-earned win in a fantastic and hugely competitive match with the Red Lions. Ireland have done all they can to secure their spot at the Rio Olympics with a polished 4-1 victory over world number 12 Malaysia today in 5th place play-off match at FINTRO Hockey World League Semi-Final 2015 in Antwerp, Belgium. Goals from Good, Caruth, Sothern and Darling put the game out of reach of a pacey Malaysian side that struggled to take their chances.
The Green Machine got off to the perfect start with a goal each for Good and Caruth in the opening 10 minutes. Malaysia enjoyed the bulk of possession but pressure from the Irish defence and superb goal keeping from Harte meant the sides went into the half 2-0 to the Irish. Continue reading →
