Madhya Pradesh are champions of Sr Women’s Hockey Nationals 2015 (B-Division)

Hockey Madhya Pradesh defeated Hockey Patiala 4-0 to clinch the title of the 5th Senior National Hockey Championship 2015 (Women) ‘’B’’ Division at Saifai today. In the Bronze Medal match, Hockey Bihar edged past Association of Indian Universities by 3-2 to finish at 3rd position in the tournament.

Hockey Madhya Pradesh convincingly beat Hockey Patiala 4-0 and lifted the title of the 5th Senior National Hockey Championship 2015 (Women) ‘’B’’ Division today. Hockey Madhya Pradesh produced a clinical performance throughout the match and left no scope for Hockey Patiala to score. Hockey Madhya Pradesh drew their first blood through Jyoti Pal who then sneaked in three goals in the 23rd, 26th and 29th minute, the first one coming from a penalty corner and the other two field goals. UP, Jharkhand, Services & Haryana won in Sr Nationals (A-Div) at Lucknow

15 March 2014: The host Uttar Pradesh registered third consecutive win in the 4th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship 2014 (Division A) as they defeated Karnataka 2-1 in a nail biting match of Pool C played at Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium in Lucknow today. Uttar Pradesh is now leading the pool table.

Both the teams gave a tough time to each during the entire first half with both teams maintaining their attack on each other. But both the teams failed to score with the limited chances that they got. The second half started with Uttar Pradesh increasing pressure over the opponents and in the 58th minute it was Diwarkar Ram who converted the penalty corner that the team got hence helping his team taking the lead. Jharkhand immediately went on the attack and came back into the game within 7 minutes and converted the penalty corner through B P Chingappa to level scores. Chandigarh, Services and CAG won in Lucknow Nationals (A-Division)

14 March 2014: On the opening day for Pool A and Pool B matches of the 4th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship 2014 (Division A) being played at Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium in Lucknow, Chandigarh Olympic Association, Services Sports Control Board and Comptroller & Auditor General of India, all registered their maiden win in their respective matches.

Chandigarh Olympic Association played an excellent match against Andhra Pradesh and defeated them with 4-2 in Pool A. Chandigarh Olympic Association was on a full throttle in the first half of the match as they dominated with a 2-0 lead till half time. Chandigarh’s Tarandeep Singh started off with the goal scoring spree for the team in the 9th minute of the game, followed by Navdeep Singh’s two goals in the 20th and 39th minute and Lakhwinder singh in the 51st minute. Pool D opens up as Tamil Nadu beat FCI in Sr Hockey Nationals (A-Division)

13 March 2014: Tamil Nadu registered their first win in the 4th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship 2014 (Division A) being played at Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium in Lucknow, as they defeated Food Corporation of India 4-3 to open up the competition in Pool D.

Also, after suffering a 5-2 loss in their first game against Uttar Pradesh, Hockey Odisha registered their first win by defeating Karnataka by 3-1 on board. Continue reading →

Day 8 of Pune Hockey Nationals 2013: Delhi, Punjab, Karnataka & Manipur Wins their Matches

4 June 2013: Delhi defeated Gujarat 11-1 in their Pool A league match on the 8th day of Pune Hockey Nationals 2013. Defending Champions Punjab, Karnataka and Manipur also won their respective matches of the day in the 3rd Hockey India Senior Men National Championship 2013 being played in Pune.

The goal scorers for Delhi were Own Goal (3min), Mohit 5, 14, 16 (min), Parveen Kumar (20min), Parshant (26min), Kabir Sharma (27min), Kuldeep (28min), Pradeep Kumar (45min), Anil Kumar (55min) and Rajbir Yadav (58min) while Rohit Thakur (35min) scored the only goal for Gujarat.

In the other match of Pool A, defending champions Punjab registered their second win beating Association of Indian Universities 8-4. Punjab scored through Deepak Thakur (3, 28, 31, 60, 63 min), Vikramjit Singh (24, 49 min) and Ravi Pal (33 min) while Ramandeep Singh (16 min), Razin Kandulana (37, 45 min) and Hardeep Singh 66 min) scored for Association of Indian Universities. New Delhi, 3 June 2013: On 7th day of Pune Hockey Nationals 2013, Association of Indian Universities and Karnataka registered big wins in their league matches played at Major Dhyan Chand Polygrass Hockey Stadium, Pimpri in Pune, while Services, Odisha and Manipur also won their respective matches.
