Today in the first semi finals Holders Punjab & Sind Bank beat Army XI by 3-2 in tough fight and in second semi finals Indian Oil defeated Punjab XI (Pakistan) by 4-2 to reserve place in the finals at Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium here. Jalandhar November 7, 2014: Star Studded Rail Coach Factory (RCF Kapurthala) clinched the title in women section of 31st Indian Oil Servo Surjit Hockey Tournament at Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium here by beating Haryana XI via penalty shoot-out by 3-2.

Today Haryana XI beat Rest of Pakistan by 5-0 to jump ahead of Punjab XI on the basis of better goal average and booked a place women’s finals against RCF Kapurthala will be played on 7th November at 5-00 PM. Punjab-XI and Haryana-XI earned 4 points each from three outings each.
Though in the Pakistani girls lost this match by 5-0, but today their exhibited good hockey, well coordination but for their poor finishing, they failed to score. In the Men sections, Indain Oil defeated Indian Overseas Bank by 4-1 and Army XI defeated Bharat Petroleum 3-2 to entered semi finals of the tournament from their respective pools.
In the men section of the tournament, last year’s rumnners up Indian Oil, Mumbai defeated indian Overseas Bank by 4-1. The bankers took the lead in the 5th minute of the game when they earned their first penalty corner. Their penalty corner expert D Matthuselvan did not make any mistake to find the target.
