Air India face CAG in final of Sr Men Nationals (A-Division) at Lucknow

22nd March 2014: Air India Sports Promotion Board and Comptroller & Auditor General Of India beat Uttar Pradesh and Railway Sports Promotion Board respectively to set-up summit clash of the 4th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship 2014 (Division A) to be played at Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium in Lucknow tomorrow.

In the first semi-final, a tough fight was witnessed between Air India Sports Promotion Board and Uttar Pradesh where both teams showed extraordinary skills throughout the play. A small mistake by Uttar Pradesh gave Air India Sports Promotion Board a penalty corner opportunity in the 13th minute of the game and Gaganpreet Singh made no mistake in converting it into a goal and helped the team take a much-needed 1-0 lead. An Appeal to Help Akash, a Budding Hockey Player, who Lost his Legs in a Train Mishap

Akash, a trainee of the Mata Sahib Kaur Hockey Academy, Jarkhar, was traveling in a train for going to his home to celebrate his birthday there. While alighting from the train, he slipped and the train ran over him and he lost both legs in the accident.

This mishap has cut short the career of Akash, a promising hockey player, who had represented Punjab in various Under-14 hockey tournaments
