Simon Child lead 9 Black Sticks to Hockey India League Players’ Auction

NEW DELHI, October 18: Simon Child, a member of the FIH World All Star team in 2009 and is on the road to becoming the most capped New Zealand hockey international, is among the nine stars from that country who will feature in next month’s Hockey India League Players’ Auction that will herald the onset of the prestigious Hockey India League in January next year.

Four Australian co-captains lead players signing up for Hockey India League

NEW DELHI, October 16: Several Australian hockey stars have joined their captain Jamie Dwyer in making themselves available for the prestigious Hockey India League. As many as four Australian co-captains Mark Knowles, Fergus Kavanagh, Liam de Young and Edward Ockenden will be part of the Hockey India League Players Auction to be held next month.

Hockey India League appoints Steve Catton as HIL Competitions Director

NEW DELHI, October 10Hockey India League (HIL) announced the appointment of the vastly experienced Steve Catton as Competitions Director for the six-team franchise-based event that is slated to be held from January 5 to February 3, 2013.

NEW DELHI, September 17: Hockey India today announced that Wave Group under the stewardship of Gurdeep Singh ‘Ponty’ Chadha, would own the Delhi franchise in the Hockey India League and make its maiden foray in the world of sports.

Patel-Uniexcel Group to forge strong team as Hockey India League’s Ranchi franchise

NEW DELHI, Sept 14: Hockey India League today announced that the Ranchi franchise would be taken up by the Patel-Uniexcel Group, making it the third of the six franchisees who will compete in the prestigious event to be held every year from January 2013. Sahara India and Jaypee Group are the franchisees for Lucknow and Punjab.
