NEW DELHI, November 8: The Hockey India League Players’ Auction will take place in the Capital (Delhi) on December 1, 2012, nearly five weeks before the Hockey India League is scheduled to start, Hockey India Secretary-General and Hockey India League Chairman Dr Narinder Batra said here today.
“The HIL Players’ Auction will be a massive landmark in the history of sport since there has been no precedent in any league. NEW DELHI, November 4: Asian All Star goalkeeper Kumar Subramaniam is among five members of the silver medal-winning 2010 Asian Games Malaysian hockey team who have signed up for the Hockey India League Players’ Auction to be held this month in the run up to the six franchise Hockey India League that will start on 5 January 2013.
The 33-year-old comes with vast international experience, having played 197 games that includes matches in three Asian Games, two Commonwealth Games and a FIH Champions Trophy tournament. NEW DELHI, November 1: The vastly experience Alegre brothers, Ramon and David, are among the leading Spanish hockey players who have signed up to be a part of the Hockey India League Players’ Auction to be held next month in the run up to the six-team Hockey India League that will be contested from 5 January 2013.
The 31-year-old Ramon Alegre, who led Spain in the London Olympic Games and has 237 caps, has represented his country in three Olympic Games when his team finished fourth in 2004, won silver in 2008 and sixth this year, two FIH World Cup events in 2006 and 2010 and in as many as seven FIH Champions Trophy tournaments since 2004 when the team won gold.

NEW DELHI, October 19: Austin Smith, who led the South African in the Olympic Games hockey competition earlier this year, is among the top stars from his country to sign up for next month’s Hockey India League Players’ Auction in the run up to the Hockey India League that will be held from January 5, 2013.
