Australia Women Retain CWG Title, New Zealand get Bronze

In the most dramatic of circumstances the Australian women’s hockey team, the Hockeyroos, won a third consecutive Commonwealth Games gold medal on Saturday as they struck late to overhaul a determined England team in a shoot-out. While New Zealand Women’s Hockey team beat South Africa 5-2 to win Bronze medal at Glasgow 2014. England are through to the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games Final against Australia at 20:15 local time, following a thrilling contest against world number four side New Zealand  which went to a shoot out after full-time finished 1-1. England goalkeeper Maddie Hinch became the hero, pulling off three saves in the shoot out to take her side through to the gold medal match.
