Ireland and India head to Rotterdam for Hockey World League Semi Finals

Indian Men's Hockey Team: Champions Hockey World League 2 New Delhi 2013

Both India and Ireland, who qualified for the FIH World League Semi-Finals through Hockey World League 2 New Delhi in February 2013, will travel to Rotterdam, Netherlands from 13th – 23rd June 2013 . The other teams at Rotterdam competition will be Australia, Netherlands, New Zealand and Spain, who qualified by FIH Rankings, while two others yet to be determined i.e. the winner of the upcoming World League 2 tournament in France and the highest ranked second place team from the French or Russia World League 2 competition.

Muhammad Atiq to Lead Pakistan Hockey Boys Team at U-16 Asia Cup in Singapore

The Pakistan U-16 Boys Hockey Team will fly to Singapore for participating in the 2nd U-16 Boys Asia Cup to be played from 4th to 7th April 2013 at Sengkang Hockey Stadium. Muhammad Atiq will lead the 10 member squad, while Nohaiz Zahid Malik will be his deputy in the tournament, which will be the first time the new FIH Hockey5s modified game will be played officially in the World. Australia defeat Malaysia to win Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 7th Time, Korea won Bronze

17 March 2013: In a dramatic final match, Australia scored four seconds before full-time winning 3-2 and denying Malaysia (ranked 13th), in front of a home crowd of 15,000, the chance to win the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup. While defending champions New Zealand (Black Sticks) finished fourth having lost 2-1 to Korea and India defeated Pakistan (4-2) to finish fifth. This was fourth appearance of Malaysia in the final of Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in 22 Editions and 30 years. 16 March 2013: India were held by Malaysia for 2-2 to deny them a place in Bronze Medal match while Black Sticks fell short 3-2 against Australia and Korea held Pakistan for 2-2 draw at the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup to set up the summit clash between World #2 side Kookaburras and #13 Malaysia (Points table and all results here).
