Amit Rohidas to Lead Indian Junior Men’s Hockey Team for European Tour
New Delhi, 19 May 2013: The Indian Junior Men’s Hockey team is undergoing a preparatory camp at NSSC (SAI) Bangalore. The team will travel to Europe from 23 May-5 June 2013 in preparations for the FIH Junior Men Hockey World Cup to be held in New Delhi from 6-15 December 2013. Green Machine beat Olympic Hockey Champions Germany
Ireland 3 (Sothern, Cargo, O’Donohue) beat Germany 2 (Rurher, Fluchs) Andrew Meredith’s Irish Men’s team have beaten reigning Olympic Champions Germany 3-2 in Heilbronn this afternoon in an International test match in front of almost 3,000 spectators. Ireland took the lead in the 4 th minute when Pembroke Wanderers man Alan Sothern found the net.
Australia U21 men’s hockey squad announced for the Europe tour
Australia’s under 21 men’s hockey team, the Burras, have selected 20 athletes to tour Europe next month as preparations for December’s Junior World Cup get underway in earnest. Four years ago Australia won the bronze medal with victory over rivals New Zealand and the two week trip will see the Burras go up against the two teams that finished above them on the medal rostrum in 2009, Germany and the Netherlands. The five match European tour will see Australia play Germany twice in Mulheim, followed by three Tests against the Netherlands’ U21s in Eindhoven. Meredith announces Irish Men’s Hockey squad for series against Germany
Irish Senior Men’s Coach Andrew Meredith has named a 20-man squad for the upcoming test matches vs Germany in Heilbronn & Mannheim on the 16th, 17th & 18th of May 2013 in preparation for FIH World League 3 in Rotterdam from 13th – 23rd June. Meredith has had a busy month taking in each round of the Irish Hockey League including last weekend’s finals at Three Rock Rovers and his squad for this test series includes a number of players who excelled in that tournament alongside a large European Club based Irish contingent.

Ireland and India head to Rotterdam for Hockey World League Semi Finals
Both India and Ireland, who qualified for the FIH World League Semi-Finals through Hockey World League 2 New Delhi in February 2013, will travel to Rotterdam, Netherlands from 13th – 23rd June 2013 . The other teams at Rotterdam competition will be Australia, Netherlands, New Zealand and Spain, who qualified by FIH Rankings, while two others yet to be determined i.e. the winner of the upcoming World League 2 tournament in France and the highest ranked second place team from the French or Russia World League 2 competition.
