A late penalty corner drag flick from Jodie Kenny claimed the Australia a 3-2 victory at the 2015 Hawke’s Bay Cup after being deadlocked with Trans-Tasman rivals the New Zealand Black Sticks in the final minutes of the final match on Sunday night. India saved their best till last at the Hawke’s Bay Cup women’s hockey tournament 2015, scoring two goals in the final quarter of the 7th & 8th playoff to beat Japan 3-2 after going down 2-0 early in the match. Australia to face New Zealand in all trans-Tasman final at Hawke’s Bay Cup

The Hockeyroos have booked their place in Sunday afternoons gold medal match at the 2015 Hawke’s Bay Cup in New Zealand against Trans-Tasman rivals, the Black Sticks, after defeating China 3-2 in the semi-final Saturday evening. New Zealand defeated Korea by 4-0 in the other semi final. Earlier in the day, USA beat India 3-0 with two goals from Katie O’Donnell and one from Kathleen Sharkey. The Americans will now face Argentina in the 5th/6th play-off tomorrow after narrowly winning 3-2 against Japan. India will play Japan tomorrow to decide the 7th/8th position. The women hockey team of India was defeated by USA in 5th-8th classification match at the Hawke’s Bay Cup 2015. In the other 5th-8th classification match Argentina edged past Japan by 3-2 to set-up Pan-American contest for 5th place (report in later half of this article). The classification match between India and USA witnessed yet another round of an exciting clash as each team looked at creating pressure through their attacks and cashing on the opportunities. New Zealand beat India in QF of Hawke’s Bay Cup (Women’s Hockey)

The Black Sticks (New Zealand) Women have secured their spot in the Hawke’s Bay Cup semi finals after an emphatic 4-1 result over India in this evening’s quarter final. China overcame Japan in shoot-out by 3-1 after scoreless draw in regulation time to set-up semi finals against Australia who defeated Argentina by 1-0, thanks to 4th minute goal by Kathryn Slattery.
