NEW DELHI, September 17: Hockey India today announced that Wave Group under the stewardship of Gurdeep Singh ‘Ponty’ Chadha, would own the Delhi franchise in the Hockey India League and make its maiden foray in the world of sports.
Hockey India Secretary-General and Hockey India League Chairman Dr Narinder Batra said the entry of Wave Group into Indian sports augured well for hockey. “Over the past few weeks when we have been interacting with him, we have seen Mr Ponty Chadha’s infectious enthusiasm. NEW DELHI, Sept 14: Hockey India League today announced that the Ranchi franchise would be taken up by the Patel-Uniexcel Group, making it the third of the six franchisees who will compete in the prestigious event to be held every year from January 2013. Sahara India and Jaypee Group are the franchisees for Lucknow and Punjab.

LUCKNOW, Sept 10:The 42 coaches who took part in the seven-day FIH-Hockey India Coaching and High Performance course will now watch hockey games from a different perspective, both tactically and technically, FIH Master Coach and FIH Coaching and High Performance Manager Tayyab Ikram has said.

NEW DELHI, Sept 10, 2012: Ritu Rani will lead the Indian Senior Women’s Hockey team in the Women’s Electric Ireland Hockey Champions Challenge 1 Dublin 2012 from September 29 to October 7 at the National Hockey Stadium in the University College Dublin. Defender Kirandeep Kaur will be vice-captain in the team’s maiden assignment under chief coach Neil Hawgood.

Lucknow, September 4: Kerala played a spirited game today to split points with Jammu & Kashmir after playing a 4-4 draw in a pool G league match of the 2nd Junior National Men Hockey Championship, at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium in Lucknow.
In other matches of the day, Chhattisgarh defeated Gujarat 8-0 in a pool C match, Maharashtra beat Uttarakhand by 5-0 in a pool E match, Bengal got a walkover from Assam, which failed to turn up, SAI Bhopal beat Tamil Nadu 5-0 in pool E, whereas Karnataka beat Chandigarh 2-0 in pool G.
